Note:
Before getting started, make sure your WOZTELL account is properly set up, as well as your account on the OpenAI platform.
What is GPT and how does it work with WOZTELL?
GPT (Generative Pre-trained Transformer) is a language model developed by OpenAI that generates intelligent, natural-language responses. With WOZTELL, you can integrate GPT into a WhatsApp channel so it acts as a conversational assistant, providing fast and context-aware replies.

How to integrate GPT with WOZTELL
Install the GPT Assistant chatbot template
1. Inside the WOZTELL platform, click on “Chatbots” and in the sidebar, select “Chatbot template gallery.”
2. In the gallery, search for the template “WhatsApp chatbot with GPT assistants” and go to its information page.
3. Scroll down to the “Install your template” button and click on it.
4. Log in with your email and password.
5. Select the organization where you want to install the GPT assistant chatbot.
6. Grant the necessary permissions and access the configuration screen.
Link your GPT to WOZTELL
7. In another browser tab, go to your OpenAI platform account.
8. To link your GPT from the OpenAI platform to WOZTELL, click on “Dashboard” → “Assistants.”
9. Select the assistant you want to link and copy its ID code.
10. Paste the ID code into the configuration page on the WOZTELL platform.
Create a new API key for your GPT
11. Go back to the OpenAI platform tab and create a new secret key by clicking on “API keys” in the left panel. Then set a name for the key and click on “Create new secret key.”
Important:
Make sure to click “Copy” and save it in a secure place, as you won’t be able to view it again later.
12. Go back to the WOZTELL configuration tab and add the code you just copied in the “API key of OpenAI” field.
Create a new WOZTELL token
13. Open a new tab with the WOZTELL platform and click on “Settings,” then select “Access tokens.”
14. Select “Token for OpenAI Assistant Chatbot” and scroll down until you can click on “Generate.” Once the token has been generated, copy it to continue.
15. Go back to the chatbot configuration page and paste the WOZTELL token you just created. Accept the terms and conditions before clicking “Install.”
Note:
If you have multiple channels in your account, an additional window will open for you to select the channel and environment where you want to connect the chatbot.
Done! Your GPT assistant is now connected to WhatsApp.
Verification and installation test
Once you’ve linked the GPT assistant to WhatsApp, it’s time to run a test before sharing it. Here’s a quick explanation on how to check everything is working properly.
1. Go to the Channels panel, select the channel where you configured your chatbot, and click “Edit” to open its settings.
2. Send a test message to the phone number linked to that channel.
3. Go to the Inbox panel to verify that the chatbot is responding automatically as expected.
Done! The chatbot will now work automatically whenever it is triggered.
