How to get the blue check (formerly green check) on WhatsApp

Meta recently updated the business verification system on WhatsApp. The traditional green checkmark (✔️) has been replaced by a blue badge (🔵), similar to the one used on Facebook and Instagram. This change is not only aesthetic—it is part of a global strategy to unify brand presence across the Meta ecosystem.

In this article, we explain what this change means, why it matters for your business, and how you can request official verification (OBA) from your account connected to WOZTELL.

What is the blue check on WhatsApp?

The blue check (blue badge) indicates that a business has been verified by Meta as an Official Business Account (OBA). This verification confirms that the business is legitimate and well-known, and it helps build trust with users interacting with your brand on WhatsApp.

Previously, this badge was green. It is now blue as part of Meta’s cross-platform consistency.

Benefits of getting the blue badge

  • Strengthens credibility and trust with your customers.
  • Unifies your brand identity across WhatsApp, Facebook, and Instagram.
  • Improves engagement and response rates.
  • Reduces the risk of identity spoofing.
