How to Send WhatsApp Template Messages Based on Google Sheets Content with WOZTELL & Make

This tutorial explains how to send WhatsApp template messages using data from specific columns in a Google Sheet.
It’s ideal for marketing, sales, or support teams who want to automate personalized WhatsApp outreach based on spreadsheet content.

Overview

Your scenario consists of two modules:

1. Google Sheets – Get Range Values: Fetches the values from a defined range (rows and columns) in your spreadsheet.
2. WOZTELL | Unleash WhatsApp – Send WhatsApp Template Message: Sends a WhatsApp template message to the phone number in each row, using other column values as variables.

Visual flow:

Step 1: Get Range Values from Google Sheets

1. In Make, add the module: Google Sheets – Get Range Values.
2. Connect your Google account.
3. Select your spreadsheet and the range (specific columns and rows) containing the data you want to use.
4. Make sure your sheet is prepared with all needed columns (e.g., phone number, name, custom variables, etc.).

Step 2: Send WhatsApp Template Message (WOZTELL)

1. Add the module: WOZTELL | Unleash WhatsApp – Send WhatsApp Template Message.
2. Connect your WOZTELL account.
3. Prepare and approve your WhatsApp message template in WOZTELL, with blank variables to be filled.
4. Map the data from each row (phone number, name, etc.) to the corresponding template fields in Make.
5. For each row, a WhatsApp template message will be sent using the info from the sheet.

Best Practices

- Design your Google Sheet with clear headers matching your template variables.
- Test by filling a row and checking that the correct message is sent.
- Use filters in Make to skip incomplete or invalid rows.
- Monitor your scenario runs for errors or delivery issues.

Result

Once activated, your scenario will send WhatsApp template messages to recipients listed in your Google Sheet, personalizing each message with the relevant data from the sheet.

Next Steps

- Add conditions or branching logic in Make for different templates or recipients.
- Integrate with CRM or other systems for deeper automation.
