Meta Business Verification confirms that your company is a legitimate, registered business within Meta's ecosystem. While it is not mandatory for every business, verification is required to scale on the WhatsApp Business Platform and unlocks its full capabilities.

The two verification paths

There are two ways to get verified. Which one is right for you depends on where you are in your setup:

  • Clear, complete and fully readable — no cropped, blurry or altered scans
  • The legal business name, address and phone number must exactly match the details in your Meta Business Portfolio

Not accepted:

  • Personal identification documents (ID cards, passports)
  • Invoices, purchase orders, or self-filed tax documents

Frequently asked questions

Is Business Verification the same as the blue badge?

Is verification required to increase my messaging limits?

Can my display name show before full verification?

In some cases, yes. Since April 2024, businesses that meet message-quality standards and pass display-name review may show their name without full verification. Meta controls this rollout, so verification remains the reliable path.
