Before You Start
Just like WhatsApp, Instagram is the social network where we spend the most time daily, and an excellent way to differentiate yourself from competitors, who will likely be sending emails and filling up spam inboxes of millions of people.
However, there are some points that need clarification for your Instagram communication strategy to work.
- It's not for everyone: You will need to have a Business or Creator account beforehand.
- You won't be able to upload a list of usernames: This special feature for reactivating conversations with people who have previously interacted with you is only available for those who interacted after connecting your account.
- You need to have an active account: It’s not enough to just send mass messages, Instagram will be attentive to ensure your account has quality.

Step-by-Step to Launch a Direct Message Campaign on Instagram
On this page, we’ll teach you how to create a Campaign step by step. When you're ready to start, go to the "Campaign" tab at the top.
1. First, log into your WOZTELL account and connect Instagram, here are the steps
2. To start creating a new Campaign, click on the "New Campaign" button at the top right.
3. On the left, choose a name for the Campaign and write a description for it. The "Description" is not mandatory, but it will help you easily differentiate campaigns with similar names.
TIP: We recommend creating a coding system for all your campaigns; this way, you'll be able to find them easily. Example: ES_BlackFriday_001_2025
4. On the right, select the Channel from which you want to send the message. To continue, click on "Next."
Include Audiences
At the top, select the Audience for the Campaign or if you want to send the message to all users on the Channel.
If you need to create a New Audience, click on "Create Audience."
To add Contacts to the new Audience, choose the data source and the type of Audience you want to create:
Static Audience
Fixed list of contacts generated using filters in the WOZTELL platform. If you want to update it, you need to do it manually.
If you choose to create a Static Audience, a pop-up will appear with the Contacts panel.
On the left, you will be able to add filters to help you find the necessary Contacts.
Dynamic Audience
List of contacts that is automatically updated when they meet the configured filters in the WOZTELL platform.
If you choose to create a Dynamic Audience, a pop-up will appear with the criteria panel for the Audiences.
On the left, you can add dynamic filters or criteria to select the necessary Contacts.
On the right, you will see all the Contacts that meet the selected criteria.
At the bottom, select the part of the Audience you want to exclude. By default, the "Unsubscribed" list will always be considered. Click "Next" to continue.
Campaign Message
Now comes the most important part: on IG, you have more freedom to send what you consider, but remember it should be relevant to your audience to avoid being blocked.
1. Make sure we are on Instagram, if not, simply add the Platform so that you have Instagram-specific options
2. You’ll need to choose from the following options:
- Text
- Image
- Carousel
We definitely recommend using Carousel or text, so you can include Call to Actions, whether payloads or links to a URL.
Sending or Scheduling the Campaign
On this last page, you’ll be able to review:
- The campaign name
- The channel from which it is sent
- The included and excluded audiences
- The preview of the message that customers will receive
- Additionally, you can add a tag to identify customers
And finally, you’ll need to choose between:
- Send the campaign immediately
- Schedule the sending of this

You will be able to view the results of your sending by selecting the same campaign
