How to send WhatsApp messages in Cliq

There are two message types:

  • Session messages:  session is the 24hr window when you can exchange messages freely with your contacts. The window opens when the contact sends you a message. The 24hr period count starts from the time you received the last message from your contact. If the user doesn't reply in 24 hr, the session will close and you will only be able to communicate with this contact with a template message.

  • Template messages: these are messages that need to be pre-approved by WhatsApp and, once approved, can be used to initiate a session or to bulk send messages to your users, for example for sending notifications. To learn more about getting templates approved you can consult this article.

When you receive a message from your WABA (WhatsApp API number), Woztell creates a channel in Cliq that is identified with a hashtag at the beginning of the name and a red number on the right showing that you have unread messages.

In these channels, when using a desktop or a mobile Cliq app, agents can send messages as described below:
  • Sending text messages: in the text field, insert "/w "and the text you want to send

  • Sending multimedia messages: in the text field, insert "/w " and choose to either drag and drop the file or click on the paperclip icon on the left to search for the file.

  • Sending a template message: in the text field, insert "/w -list" and press "enter" twice to view your list of approved templates. In this list, you can reference the code of the message you want to send. In the text field, insert "/w #template code" and send the message.

  • Message status:

You can follow the message status based on the icon located on the left:

โคด๏ธ Message left your Cliq and was sent to WABA cloud

๐ŸŒ Message sent from WABA cloud to the contact

๐Ÿ“ฒ Message delivered to the contact

โœ… Message read by the contact

โœ–๏ธ Message sending failed and an error message with the explanation why it failed will appear:

The icons you see might have a different layout based on the device you are using, but the object will always be the same, ie. arrow, cellphone, globe, checkmark, and cross.

  • Message icons:

    • all received messages from contacts have the green WhatsApp icon with the incoming arrow on the left,
        Incoming message

    • messages sent by your agents will have a blue WhatsApp icon with an outgoing arrow, and
         Outgoing message

    • Woztell notification messages, like error messages, have a WhatsApp icon with no arrow.
